Holy Mandylion No.4

$30.00

Behold I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world.

Early Church historians record that King Abgar of Edessa wrote to Jesus, asking Christ to come and cure the his illness. The King was happy to offer a small but peaceful city away from the civil unrest of Palestine. Christ declines to come personally but presses His face to a piece of cloth, which is permanently imprinted with His likeness, the original Mandylion, image-not-made-by-hands. He sends the towel and promises that one of the Apostles will come to the King. Pressing the cloth to his face, King Abgar is partially healed and soon is made completely well through the arrival and prayers of St Thaddeus.
